SBT initiative validates Fuji Electric's greenhouse gas emission reduction targets

SBT initiative validates goals

Fuji Electric Co, Ltd. is pleased to announce the validation of its greenhouse gas reduction targets for 2030. The green light was given by the Science Based Targets (SBTi) initiative. Their targets have been recognized as scientifically consistent with the Paris Agreement's 1.5°C target.

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a notable partnership. It was created in collaboration between UNGC (United Nations Global Compact), CDP, WRI (World Resources Institute) and WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature).

Concerning the COP26 summit, this is the 26ᵉ session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. In December 2021, the 197 countries and regions present reached agreement. The agreed objective is to limit the increase in global temperature to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
