When the sample gas is placed in a magnetic field, oxygen molecules will be attracted. This gives rise to a pressure, which is detected by a mass flow sensor.

Paramagnetic operating principle
The heart of this analyser gas meter is based on the paramagnetic principle of pressure sensing. In the presence of a reference gas, such as nitrogen (N2), the instrument measures variations in oxygen concentration with remarkable accuracy. This enables measurement scales to be configured according to the reference gas used.
Configurable Measurement Scales
Measuring ranges with N2 reference gas offer impressive flexibility, from 0 to 100% oxygen. Similarly, scales with reference gas air and 100% O2 are configurable, covering 21 to 100% and 100 to 0% oxygen respectively. This adaptability makes analysers ideal for a variety of applications.
