The V-Cone ® flow meter is an instrument for differential pressure flow measurement of liquids, steam or gases, even under the most difficult conditions. It is a process control and fluid flow measurement instrument that offers an accurate, repeatable and cost-effective flow measurement solution.
The V-Cone® flowmeter reinforces our ability to offer the best flow measurement solutions for any situation you may encounter.
It is the ideal solution for accurately measuring the flow of fluids in your pipes.
The V-Cone® flow meter is capable of measuring a variety of fluids including water, oil, gas, steam and condensate. With its innovative centre cone, the V-Cone provides accurate real-time flow measurement.
The V-Cone® is also capable of measuring fluids containing suspended solids or fibres, making it a valuable tool for industrial applications such as food and beverage, mining, chemical, oil and gas, and many more.
The V-Cone® offers many advantages over other types of flowmeters, such as its ability to measure high temperature and high pressure fluids, and its low sensitivity to installation conditions.
The V-Cone® is also easy to install, as it does not require straight lengths of pipe upstream and downstream to provide an accurate measurement.
The operating principle of the differential pressure cone flowmeter is based on the use of Bernoulli's equation to measure the flow of a fluid through a pipe. Bernoulli's equation determines that the pressure drop across the constriction is proportional to the square of the flow rate. The differential pressure cone flowmeter has a cone-shaped element that shapes the flow before the differential pressure measuring connection, without influencing the flow with a sharp surface, which makes possible an extremely stable signal for the measurement and minimal wear on the conical side.
The V-Cone® flowmeter generates a differential pressure by creating a reduction zone through a cone-shaped element located on the central axis of the pipe.
The differential pressure cone flowmeter measures the pressure difference between two points in a pipe where fluid is flowing. As the fluid passes through the cone, the cross-sectional area of the pipe narrows, causing the fluid velocity to increase. This increase in fluid velocity causes a decrease in the static pressure of the fluid in that area.

The pressure difference between upstream and downstream of the cone is measured by two pressure taps located upstream and downstream of the cone. The pressure difference is directly proportional to the fluid flow rate in the pipe. The pressure difference is measured by a differential pressure transmitter that converts the pressure difference into a linear electrical signal that is proportional to the flow rate.
